This past Friday night we had a fundraiser concert at the Cowichan Theatre featuring Stephanie Lang and friends. There was singing, dancing and a silent auction and we finished the evening off with a headshave by Greg. In total, we raised about $ 6,000.00 for the Sumners family that night. Lourdess is a cute little 9 year old Philipino Caucasian girl who goes to our Church. We have had three fundraining events for her family these past few weeks and raised in the neighbourhood of $ 20,000. to help defray some of the medical costs they will need. She is in Childrens Hospital in Vancouver and will undergo a stem cell transplant on Monday Feb 18TH. They were unable to find a bone marrow match for her so they are performing a new operation thru the injection of stem cells from the imbilical cord of a donor. It is a very fragile operation and she is undergoing chemo and radiation this week. Please pray for her on Feb 18th.
